Akamai State of the Internet Report Crowns New Cybercrime Hub

The Akamai State of the Internet report is a valuable resource in providing a snap shot of the state of the internet both in terms of threat traffic and internet speed and connectivity worldwide. The report chronicles the emergence of Indonesia as the top source of threat traffic today.   While Indonesia has scene a spike in cybercrime activity, its emergence as the epicenter of cybercrime could be the result of global crime rings exploiting weaknesses in Indonesia networks  to hide their identities.  A CIA profile on Indonesia is below.

On the connectivity side, South Korea, Japan and Hong Kong continue to excel in broadband speed, with the Washington-New England corridor excelling domestically.
