Amazon Tax Battle Passes Milestone

Even as Amazon drops affiliates in Minnesota and Missouri to escape the latest state “Amazon Tax” legislation, the Wall Street Journal reports that as of this month the majority of U.S.  This comes as the online retail giant waits to hear whether the Supreme Court will accept its appeal.

Like any war, the Amazon Tax War has had its share of casualties which mainly consisted of affiliate marketers who war caught in the middle in the battle between their state and the Amazons and Overstocks.  Affiliate Summit reports a recent survey revealed that nearly

• one-fifth of all affiliates were removed from 1-9 programs
• 6.5% were removed from 10-24 programs;
• 0.7% were removed from 25-50 programs; and
• 2% of affiliates were removed from over half of their programs.
