Anthem to Pay $115M to Settle Data Breach Claims

Anthem Inc., the nation’s largest U.S. health insurance company, has reached a settlement in its data breach class action suit, in which it would pay $115 million to pay for two years of credit monitoring or up to $50 cash.

It is believed to be the largest single data breach settlement in history.  Anthem’s 2015 breach was the 9th largest in history according to CSO.  See below how its breach and settlements compare to the rest of the top 10.

Not included in the top 10, was the Ashley Madison data breach and they just announced a settlement of $11.2 million on behalf of its 37 million users.
