The Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market (aka EU Copyright Directive), was adopted by the European Parliament on March 26th by a vote of 338 to 284 and then adopted by the Council of European Union on April 15th.   Member states have up to two years to pass legislation implementing the directive.

Part 2: Presentation by John Wierzbicki, Director Witkin Legal Institute

John is a California lawyer and a Director of the Witkin Legal Institute, located in San Francisco, whose mission is to help make the law understandable to lawyers and those whom they serve.  He is responsible for, and writes on, contracts and constitutional law topics for the Institute.  A graduate of U.C. Berkeley, the University of Virginia, and Georgetown University Law Center, John has worked in the publishing industry as a writer, editor, and editorial director. Before his appointment to his current role, John led the author contracts and relationships group for a major legal information publisher for nearly a decade. He also conducts workshops on copyright law, contracts, and negotiation for artists and art students in California, New York, and the Washington DC area. He is currently co-located between upstate New York and San Francisco.
